One thing that is a little challenging keeping a blog like this is getting photos of your own car or yourself driving. By the nature of competition, it’s natural to focus on the driving and competing rather than on stepping back and taking pretty pictures. Luckily, at an event like Nationals there are lots of people around who are doing just that.
Shots like this are impossible to capture by yourself. I’m very fortunate that Sherman Chang was able to capture some great pictures of us! More follow. (more…)
Another big batch of photos, this time from Thursday and Friday.
Not much story to tell here, just lots of pictures!
It’s hard to post up about everything I saw or did at Nationals. The least I can do is put together some galleries of my favorite pictures from each day of racing!
Enjoy!
Day 1 ended with a disappointing finish for Todd and I, almost 2 seconds back of Maier for Todd and another second on top of that for me. Day 2 moved onto the West Course which we thought was the easier of the two courses.
The usual morning preparation was required, filling up a little air with the Goodyear guys. (more…)
Been a long day, but here’s a short summary of the racing action.
Got the car shined up and in grid for 2nd Heat. We watched FS, but a report on that will have to wait. Click through for some video. (more…)
Wow, two great days of racing. ESP saw some really close racing action as did CS. But more on that later.
Started each day with a course walk. A bit of fog settled in around the Lincoln Air Park, which made for a good photo at least! (more…)
Monday is an off-day for everybody. That means car prep, getting through tech, and lots and lots of course walking. Of course, after all that is done, there’s usually more than a little bit of partying!
Every morning starts with breakfast tacos by Jackson Bar-b-cue! Jacob is Tye’s brother and for the past few years has made the trip to Nationals solely to cook for everyone from Texas. The highlight of the week has to be his brisket, but that’s later on! (more…)
The SCCA holds a Welcome Party every year at Solo Nationals. Since the move to Lincoln, the great people at Speedway Motors open the doors to the Museum of American Speed, something that is not to be missed!
The museum is way too big to share everything, but I’ll try to fit a few of my personal highlights! (more…)
We’re here! Nothing much to report yet, though there was some awesome Pro Solo action on Saturday and Sunday which we mostly missed out on. Todd and I are racing Thursday/Friday, so the next few days are “off”, but I’m going to make an effort to report on a few of the other classes that are going on.
A full entry list is available at Motorsports Reg. Click through for more! (more…)
24 hours before departure! Todd is getting the trailer and car loaded up. Luckily the Shenoy brothers loaned us their 2 car trailer again, so we’ll be able to split the fuel cost up a bit. On the road to Lincoln tomorrow!
